CONTINUATIVE GARMENT
The Continuative Garments label was first launched in Autumn/Winter 1990-91 and comprised a series of “classic” C.P. Company models already present in the collection in one form or another since at least 1988, including the field jacket, one long and one short parka, raincoat, duffle coat, quilted vest, Goggle Jacket, white shirt, button-down coloured shirt, pleated corduroy trousers and pleated chinos. Each garment came with a hangtag which emphasised the by-now ex- traordinary and entirely unique capacities of Massimo Osti’s research and man- ufacturing facilities in Crevalcore.
Beyond consolidating the core values of C.P. Company, in particular its desire to offer a sophisticated complete wardrobe through the use of industrial inno- vation of clothing manufacturing, the Continuative Garments project also spoke to Osti’s oft-stated desire to ignore or work in defiance of the dominant values of the fashion market.
