Icons aren’t just born overnight nor is their conception straight forward, a legendary status is achieved not only by the merits of a visionary design but also a visionary consumer. During a short but incredibly intense period during the 1980s, two future iconic brands, C.P. Company and Sebago, stepped into the spotlight. The reason being because these highly revered pieces of aspirational apparel and footwear were purchased, traded, worn, and repurposed by a vibrant group of young Italian fashion cognoscenti. These forward thinking tastemakers had inadvertently created the first streetwear movement in Italian fashion history.
