SHADOWY MAIS JACKET

As with 50 Fili, panama weave cotton fabric was developed by Massimo Osti specifically to create special effects during garment dyeing. In this case the weft of the fabric was woven with a light “corn husk” green coloured yarn, whilst the warp was white or uncoloured. When garment dyed, a subtle two-tone effect was created which was accentuated by emery brushing the outer side of the fabric and/or adding a (fissato) resin to the garment dye bath to create an uneven absorption of colour.
