THE METROPOLIS SERIES – TRACERY GOGGLE JACKET
Progressing from the “remastered” editions of the Metropolis jacket from the previous season, here designers Pungetti and Harvey pushed the model into entirely new directions. In this case the jacket, made from a nylon-polyester fabric, has been overprinted using the sublimation process. The nylon yarn absorbs the colour less than the polyester yarn, softening the printed pattern which is itself a “shadow” of the jacket, revealing its construction and emphasising the texture of the fabric. The process was appropriately named “Tracery”.
